5 Tips on How to Date During COVID
We are entering second wave of COVID and I wanted to share some tips so you feel supported and prepared.
I want to start off by saying that I get it…it’s so hard to meet people when we are largely at home, and masked in public places. Even before COVID, finding a vegan partner that totally gets you and is on the same wavelength was HARD!
As winter approaches for some of us, the thought of freezing our butts off without someone to cuddle with is a hard thing. As if that’s not enough, the holidays always tend to be harder on some people when they aren’t partnered up. To be honest, it was hard for me when I was single.
So if finding love is more of a priority now, it’s time to start “thinking outside the box” when it comes to vegan dating. It’s STILL possible to be social and meet people during COVID times!
Here are a few tips for vegan dating:
#1 Know your boundaries
Having boundaries when it comes to dating is SO vital to having a healthy relationship with someone. Why? Because they set the basic guidelines of HOW you want to be treated. And if you don’t communicate how you want to be treated, that’s when things start feeling uncomfortable or awkward…and no one wants that, right?
#2 Don’t force yourself
If you’re truly not feeling the whole dating thing, it’s OK. Don’t force yourself to put yourself out there, it’s probably not the right time for you. Instead, take the time to focus on YOU, pick up a new hobby, take an online course, exercise. Or just be.
#3 – Video Dating is where it’s at
Having video dates actually has more pros than cons that you might not have considered… Seeing someone virtually allows you to see their body language and read their facial expressions as opposed to just texting back and forth, plus you don’t have to worry about finding parking! #4 – Get Social (Virtually)
If you’ve decided you don’t want to go out and meet people in real life, it’s ok, you can still be social, just virtually! I created my Virtual Veg Singles parties (aka Zoom Hangouts) for this exact reason! So that you can be social, without having to wear a mask, from the comfort of your home. It’s such a fun, totally chill way to meet and connect with others.
#5 – Have a support system
You don’t have to go through this alone! Having support is instrumental and can really help you get through tough times. If you want a deep level of support as you’re navigating how to find the veg love you seek, my 10 week program offers an incredible amount of continuous support from me and others going through my program!
Asking for support is hard. We are taught that we “should” be able to do everything on our own – live a successful life, heal all of our past problems and find true love. But going it alone doesn’t always give us the boost we need to REALLY succeed.
The real work is accepting that you need to give yourself permission to NOT SUFFER and GET SUPPORT.
Book a call, and let’s see if my program is the answer you’ve been looking for.
